Responsibilities:

Our world-renowned Developmental Neurobiology Department has an exciting opportunity for a Bioimaging Research Specialist in the Solecki Group. In this role, you will dissect the interface between neuronal differentiation programs and cell polarity signaling at a cell biological and biophysical level. This is a unique opportunity to elucidate the cellular mechanisms for neuronal migration, adhesion and guidance by extracting meaningful data from an increasing flow of high-resolution neuronal imaging data.

You will have the opportunity to interact with experts from diverse backgrounds and collaborators from around the world. St. Jude is among a few institutes in the world with the capacity to interrogate biological questions through our in-house advanced imaging capabilities, including Lattice Light Sheet Microscopy, super-resolution imaging (SIM, PALM or STORM) and advanced 3D electron microscopy resources. Because of the strong use of imaging modalities for our research objectives, experience using quantitative time-lapse fluorescent microscopy to understand cell biology or biophysics is considered essential for your success. Experience utilizing CRISPR/Cas9 or familiarity MATLAB or Fiji analysis of microscopy data are strongly desired.
