Summary/Scope

Structural and chemical biology of E3 ligase modulators


A highly talented and motivated postdoctoral researcher is sought to study the structure and function of small molecule E3 ubiquitin ligase modulators. This project offers the right candidate a chance to work on state-of-the-art drug discovery science, in an environment where discoveries can be immediately translated to treatments for serious diseases.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

1.     Design of expression constructs for obtaining protein-protein and protein-ligand complexes

2.     Purification of protein-protein and protein-ligand complexes

3.     Design and development of biochemical and biophysical assays to characterize molecular interactions

4.     Structural characterization of E3 ligase components and complexes

5.     Computational analysis of molecular complexes

Qualifications

Ph.D. in a scientific discipline with at least 1 year of laboratory experience, preferred



Skills/Knowledge Required :

 

§      Protein purification using chromatography, experience will FPLC systems is advantageous

§      Deep knowledge of protein structure and function

§      SDS-PAGE, knowledge of western blotting and LC-MS is advantageous

§      Knowledge or experience of co-immunoprecipitation or affinity pull down is advantageous

§      Experience of macromolecular crystallization and X-ray crystallography is advantageous

§      Knowledge or experience of other structure determination methods is desirable

§      Experience with protein structure visualization, refinement and analysis software is desirable
