Technical Support Manager - Cambridge
Salary: Negotiable

An interesting opportunity has now come available for a technical support manager to join a leading company within the life sciences arena in Cambridge. You will be working with text mining software products that will be used in some of the world's healthcare and life science organisations.

You will have a strong mix of technical, IT and customer facing skills to fulfil a leading role in the clients' customer support operation. You should have a combination of technical hands-on experience as well as the ability to manage and develop the support process.

Responsibilities:
*Understanding and resolving customer support tickets as well as assisting customers, staff and clients in getting the most out of the software
*Development of technical support resources, such as ticketing and self-help systems
*Documenting technical support procedures
*Diagnosing issues, liaising with the development team to create bug fixes
*Using knowledge obtained from customer interaction, you should contribute to future product development
*Produce scripts to resolve customer needs (ad hoc)
*Using remote desktop to assist with customer installations
*You will be responsible for on-call rota, ensuring continuous customer service in Europe and the US

Requirements:
*Very strong communication and people skills
*A passion for problem solving
*Proficient in Python and/or other scripting languages
*Proven leadership experience in technical customer-facing roles
*Commercial experience with numerous operating systems and platforms - Linux, Unix, Windows
*Some familiarity with life sciences informatics applications (not essential)
*Postgrad qualifications or equivalent commercial experience
