Research Lab Specialist
A Research Lab Specialist position is available in the Department of Pathology to investigate genetic alterations in pediatric lymphomas using patient samples and in vitro cell culture. You will be responsible to plan experimental activities to achieve the goals of the research projects and update your progress with the PI. Other duties involve efficiently maintaining laboratory operations, collaborating with other laboratory personnel, and performing other duties as directed by your supervisor to meet the goals and objectives of the research.
To be successful in this position, you need a strong background in molecular biology (including RNA-seq, DNA-seq, qPCR, protein biochemistry, etc.) and cell biology (cell culture, transfection, sequence cloning, etc.). In addition to your wet lab skills, you are also expected to have effective communication and organization skills. If you have experience with flow cytometry and primary cell isolation (PBMC isolation using Ficoll-Paque and autoMACS), you are strongly encouraged to apply.Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in appropriate scientific field is required.Minimum Experience:
- A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant post-degree work experience, with at least five (5) years at the Sr. Research Tech level, is required with a Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant post-degree work experience, with at least (5) years at the Sr. Research Tech level, is required with a Master's degree
- A minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience including post-doctoral and/or technical staff experience is required with a Ph.D
