Intellectual Property (IP) Coordinator - Graduate Chemist - Patent Landscapes - Patent Strategies - Chemicals - Permanent - Essex - £26-33K + Bonus + Excellent company benefits

A leading international chemicals company requires an IP Coordinator to join their team at their state of the art facility located in Essex. As a pivotal member of the scientific team you will take full responsibility for managing all of the IP processes, including the coordination, evaluation and initial drafting of potential Patent Applications for submission to the company's Patent Attorneys. You will also manage both the Patent filing and Patent opposition activities of the company, and the associated files and costs whilst taking responsibility for conducting patent searches on behalf of internal clients with a view to understanding the company's 'Freedom to Operate', the 'Patent Landscapes' and the 'Opportunity spaces' in which the company could operate, and writing the associated reports.If you hold a degree in Chemistry (or a related subject) and are looking to develop a career outside of the laboratory this role represents an excellent career move.


-Responsible for managing all of the company IP processes
- Pro-actively manage the coordination, evaluation and drafting of Patent Applications in conjunction with the company's Patent Attorney
- Become the 'go to' person for all company IP activities.
-Manage both the Patent filing and Patent opposition activities of the company, and their associated files and costs
-Conduct patent searches with a view to understanding the 'Freedom to Operate', the 'Patent Landscapes' and 'Opportunity spaces' of project proposals in conjunction with the Project Leader, and write the appropriate report.
-Use all available systems efficiently and effectively for achieving work program objectives, modifying them as required.
-Develop and maintain a detailed technical knowledge of available IP systems.
-Develops and maintain a detailed technical knowledge across a range of technologies pertinent to the company.
-Use resources effectively and efficiently and project manage multiple activities simultaneously to accomplish targets.
-Build constructive and effective internal and external networks.
-Quality: Ensure that all requirements of the company's Quality Policies are met

-Relevant Technical Degree
