We are looking for a Senior Research Scientist/Natural Killer Cell Group Leader to lead the Immunotherapy Group within the Research Institute at Anthony Nolan. Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with blood cancer who need a stem cell transplant.
The Immunotherapy Group combines expertise in stem cell biology and cellular immunology, and works in close relationship with the Cord Blood Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of translational research projects aiming to improve the outcome of haematopoietic stem cell transplantation by translating to the clinic our research on natural killer (NK) cell expansion to fight leukaemia relapse and NK cell therapy to improve stem cell engraftment.
The applicant will focus on developing approaches that include selection, expansion and activation of NK cells and study their capacity to kill tumour cells and affect haematopoietic stem cell functions, with the aim to generate therapeutic products for clinical transplantation.
You will have an MD or PhD in Haematology, Immunology or a related discipline, have postdoctoral experience and demonstrable experience in the field of NK cell therapy and haematopoietic stem cell biology.
In addition, you will have experience in developing and leading projects in the field of immunotherapy as a junior or senior group leader. The successful candidate may have the opportunity to hold an honorary appointment within University College London, based on CV excellence.
