Data Modeller - London - Bioinformatics
Salary: £54k (DOE)

A very interesting role has just come available for a data modeller to work in the field of Genomics/ Bioinformatics. You have the opportunity to join an enthusiastic team filled with some of the greatest minds in the country, working on the 100,000 Genome Project, the biggest project in the world of its kind. The project is government funded initially to 2020 and when completed, is widely expected to change the face of healthcare across the world for generations to come. The Bioinformatics team has expanded considerably following the initial success of the project and this is expected to continue.
The project is at its early stages and there is fantastic potential here, making this vacancy very rewarding indeed. The client is looking for the right person to join this highly motivated team and be at the forefront of this unparalleled project.
In this role you will be required to maintain data models across the programme using the model catalogue meta data registry, including models for rare diseases, cancer and data sets provided for clinical research and reporting. You will also participate in the release of new models and artefacts, facilitate analysis workshops to inform changes to and the creation of new data models.
You will produce and review user guides and other supporting material for consumers of data models as they evolve, and also provide technical support for the meta data registry to users and members of the technical team.

*You will need to be highly proficient in facilitating data discovery and modelling sessions involving business subject matter experts. Ideally within healthcare
*Extensive experience using XML, XSL, and XSD's as well as experience using UML and regular expressions
*Experienced in developing, publishing and maintaining documentation for data models and model repositories
*Proven track record of maintaining a model repository within a model driven development framework
*Ability to evaluate existing data models and databases for variances, ideally with a strong understanding of physical design and performance in order to be able to participate in design efforts
*Solid experience in assisting business analysts, target users of the systems and technical staff who need to integrate third party systems
*Strong knowledge of physical data modelling across a range of data management platforms
*Experience with data integration issues
