Manufacturing Scientist

Do you hold some laboratory based skills and looking for an opportunity with a leading Life Science company in Cambridge? Are you seeking a varied role encompassing both scientific based manufacturing and assisting with product shipping and logistics?

My Cambridge based client is a highly successful and rapidly growing business which specialises in the development of reagent based kits focusing on areas such as Antibody, Protein and Assay kits.

As my client experiences continued growth, they are now seeking a Manufacturing Scientist to work on the production of life science based products, whilst assisting with scientific shipping.

The main responsibilities of this role will include:

* Primary Responsibilities:
o Manufacture Life Science products according to the manufacturing batch records (MBR's).
o Actively Participate in product improvement and process scale up
o Assist in the assembly of the final product.
o Perform general laboratory duties as required.
o Actively participate in laboratory and company meetings.
o Maintain an accurate and complete record of all laboratory work performed.
o Follow company health and safety guidelines for working in the laboratory.

* Secondary Responsibilities:
o Carry out logistics at times of high demand or when Logistics Manager is absent.
o Contribute to the company ISO system.
o Assist with research and development of new products.
o Provide additional assistance in quality control when required.
o Help with trouble shooting and technical issues with customer complaints when required.
o Use and maintain company equipment according to company SOP's and health and safety guidelines
To be considered for this opportunity candidates should have some laboratory based experience, and the ability to use basic life science laboratory techniques. If candidates have experience at postgraduate level this would be an advantage but not essential.

Candidates with any experience in scientific production and/or scientific shipping will be of interest for roles but is not an essential requirement.

This role is available at different levels from Technician through to Scientist so candidates at different levels of experience are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will have a positive attitude and a team focused mentality, understanding the need to work effectively with others at different levels. Candidates must have a flexible approach to work with a willingness to learn and complete other areas of work as necessary.
