Assistant Professor of Biology
Microbial Ecology/Microbiology

The Department of Biology at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Biology. We seek an outstanding individual with research interests in Microbial Ecology/Microbiology. We seek individuals whose biological research addresses interactions between environmental factors and microbial systems.

The successful applicant will be expected to participate fully in our doctoral program in Environmental Health Science. Our broadly based doctoral program addresses environmental concerns that directly or indirectly affect human health and well-being from the global to the molecular levels.

Successful applicants will be expected to develop a strong, externally funded research program, train a diverse group of undergraduate and graduate students from various backgrounds, make significant contributions to our Ph.D. program and undergraduate curriculum, and teach introductory and specialized upper division courses related to Microbiology.

Synergies with faculty in related disciplines both within and across departments are encouraged. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Biology or a related discipline and postdoctoral experience is preferred. Inquiries should be directed to Dr. Yash Patel (, Search Committee Chair.
