Plant Population and Community Ecology
The Department of Biology at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Biology. We seek an outstanding individual whose research addresses prominent aspects of population and/or community ecology, using plants as a primary study system.
The successful applicant will be expected to participate fully in our doctoral program in Environmental Health Science. Our broadly defined doctoral program is directed at understanding environmental problems that directly or indirectly affect human health and well-being from the global to the molecular levels.The successful applicant will also be expected to play a major role in teaching our core undergraduate course in Ecology, and specialized upper division courses related to ecology and plant biology.
Successful applicants will be expected to develop a strong, externally funded research program and train a diverse group of undergraduate and graduate students from various backgrounds.
Synergies with faculty in related disciplines and across Departments are encouraged. Candidates must hold or anticipate a Ph.D. in Biology or a related discipline by August 1, 2017, and postdoctoral experience is preferred.
