Pharmaron UK have a number of positions for Analytical Chemists at our state of the art Hoddesdon facility.

Job Specification

The ideal candidates would have experience and a proven track record in the areas of both qualitative and quantitative analysis. This includes laboratory experience in instrument operation, troubleshooting, method development, method validation, quality control, SOP writing and statistical data analysis. The role will see the successful candidates provide key analytical support as part of a fast, highly productive team. They will be required to perform chemical testing of raw materials, intermediates and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) to support the Process Chemistry group, GMP production and stability testing. They will be responsible for utilizing common analytical techniques such as: HPLC, GC, LC-MS, KF, FTIR, XRPD and wet chemical methods such as titrations.

It is expected that the successful candidate will be able to execute more complicated analysis as needed, as well as contributing to method development and project management with minimal supervision. Good written and oral communication skills are essential with the production of high quality scientific reports and documents to support our external clients a key requisite. In addition, successful candidates will be contributing to audit readiness and participating in quality audits with regulatory agencies and clients as required and hence a good understanding of GMP principles and a keen eye for detail are

Essential requirements

  • Minimum of a BS degree in Chemistry
  • Hands-on experience with LC-MS or GC-MS is preferred
  • Experience of instrument operation, maintenance and troubleshooting
  • A good understanding of organic chemistry fundamentals
  • A self-starter with a commitment to meeting client deadlines in a production environment
  • Good written and oral communication skills

The position is full time and permanent.  Hours of work are 37.5 per week Monday - Friday.  Annual holiday entitlement is 23 days a year plus Bank Holidays.  The company operates a contributory pension scheme, life assurance and a fantastic benefits package.
