A fully-funded postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Cecil H. and Ida Green Center for Reproductive Biology Sciences at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. Our Center’s mission is to promote cutting-edge, integrative research programs focused on reproductive or developmental biology, signaling, gene regulation, and genome function.
The overarching goal of our group is to utilize mouse genetics, molecular biology, genomics and cell biology approaches to understand the molecular mechanisms that drive key processes in pregnancy and birth. We are particularly interested in the dynamic changes of the cervical extracellular matrix that impact cellular and mechanical function of the cervix and their regulation by hormones as well as coding and noncoding RNAs. Experimental approaches include classical cell and molecular biology techniques, genetic manipulation of mice, various Next Generation sequencing techniques (e.g., ChIP-seq, RNA-seq), computational analysis, imaging techniques (second harmonic generation and electron microscopy) and flow cytometry.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree with a strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, and/or genomics and first-author publication in internationally recognized journals. Experience with RNA biology, immunology or extracellular matrix biology is preferred. We especially value motivated, creative, and collaborative team members.
