Field Service Engineer | Cambridge
This role provides the opportunity to work with a manufacturer of innovative technology, and by maintaining excellent relationships with customers you will work alongside and support some of the most advanced research. The role involves instrument installation and routine servicing of high-end chromatography and mass spectrometry systems, as well as training customers and supporting them with method development and applications.
You will be out in the field helping customers with their analytical instrument needs, and finding the best possible solutions to their problems. Applying your creativity, complex problem-solving skills, and can-do attitude is essential. Having a natural instinct to deliver the highest-levels of customer service is vital. You will be responsible for on-site installation, implementation, maintenance and repair of company and multi-vendor systems solutions which may include hardware, software and networking products as well as operating systems. You will be working at a variety of labs, and continuously learning about new instruments, software and consumables.
This role is also open to trainees who have no prior service experience, but have an analytical chemistry background and have method development experience from the lab. You would ideally have experience maintaining and repairing analytical equipment in the lab such as LC-MS, GC-MS, or more of the high-end triple quad systems (QQQ and QTOF). This role is a great opportunity for someone who is an experienced lab user and is looking to move into a customer-facing role.
